Quality education intertwined with cultural advancement

Dr. John Matthai Centre is affiliated with The University of
Calicut. It is situated at Laloor, a suburban Village five
Kilometers away from the heart of Trichur, the cultural
capital of Kerala. Its spread over 18 acres of land abound
with greenery, where the JMC is housed belonged to Dr.
John Matthai, the legendary Hero and one of India’s most
famous sons.
His wife Mrs. Achamma Matthai donated the ancestral
building and 18 acres of land to the Calicut University.to
start a centre for teaching and research in Economics. The
University of Calicut started the Dr. John Matthai Centre at
Thrissur in 1976 with the newly started University
Department of Economics.
